Great Product
I've had this meter for over two year. It is very accurate. Had it checked at hospital & Dr. office. Very easy to use and with the software results can be downloaded to your PC. Print a report and take to your next check-up. I like it much better than Accu-Chek.

Standard Meter
I'm still looking for a more painfree meter. Started with this meter and find I have to have the needle setting quite high to get the blood drop. Too painful for me.

50% code 24 strips bad. Out of 550 bad strips lifescan would replace 100
After using code 24 strips for 5 weeks and getting invalid results. Being low and strips not showing a low. Taking too much insulan due to invalid results causing lows. Did 14 test solution tests with only 50% within range all others invalid. Lifescan would only replace 100 strips. 1 box out of 11 they would replace. Tossed them in the trash and went to a different company

Wonderful Meter!
I began testing on a meter that took 40 seconds to display results, so I was glad to find a OneTouch Ultra that took only 5 seconds. I switched to the Ultra 2 about 9 months ago, and I love it.

The main reason I switched was for the backlight. Silly, I know, but it makes such a difference. Also, you can add comments to your readings or flag them as before or after meals. I like the ability to check my averages based on all results, before meal results, or after meal results. The up/down buttons are helpful, too. No more scrolling all the way through if you accidentally skip over your number when coding the meter.

The OneTouch Ultra 2 isn't hard to use or full of extras that are useless. It seems to be just the right combination of helpful features that help keep tighter control.

Monitor Ultra
Very good monitor, though a bit klutzy at times regarding getting the strips into the slot, and getting sufficient blood to avoid wasting a test strip at nearly a buck apiece. The test strips are another story-getting them out of the bottle without spilling them, and getting them into place, especially if you forgot before doing the lancet--a pain the posterior to say the least!

I'm not diabetic, but it runs in my family. I just wanted to be able to monitor my blood sugar. It is so easy and really almost pain free. It's nice to get a feel for how my blood sugar varies instead of just getting a single measurement at a doctor's office and not seeing the big picture.

Does not cause less pain!
This is same as other meters. Still painful. I'm going to try the Flash which uses smaller blood sample.

Glucose Monitor
Product received exactly as described. I actually bought this monitor for my brother who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. He loves it because of it's portability. Very user friendly. The product was received ahead of it's scheduled delivery date.

Very Accurate and Inexpensive Meter
I chose this meter specifically because it was the cheapest in Walgreens, back when I was first diagnosed and before I knew that meters vary so much in quality. I started to get nervous about the TrueTrack later on after reading all the poor reviews.

I decided to bring the meter to my doctor's appointments to compare my results. On three separate occasions, the TrueTrack was within at least two points of the doctor's office. I even brought my TrueTrack with me when I had lab work done at a separate facility and my meter had me one point off from the lab's reading.

My readings always reflect how I feel. I have another discount meter (not a TrueTrack, but that's supposedly of higher quality) that reads me 14-41 points higher than the TrueTrack. I thought the TrueTrack was deceiving me, but I trust the doctor's office laboratory more than I do this other meter.

The test strips are relatively expensive. They almost always include coupons inside the box, which is helpful. I don't think the meter is all that complicated, but if you've never used one before, then you should watch the instructional videos online. I had to do that when it came time to calibrate the meter.

P.S. If you are getting weird results on your meter, then calibrate the meter to ensure accuracy. Remember that testing yourself several times in a row within a few minutes is going to mess up your results. Wait at least half an hour between testings on the same meter. If none of these tips works, call the manufacturer of ANY broken meter and demand a new one.

Nice meter, does what the most expensive ones do.
I have had this meter for 3 months and have usd glucometers since 1999. What an improvement there has been. This meter gives a result in only 10 seconds. It stores all results too. It can be kept in its case along with all the other things needed. While in its case, the strips can easily be insterted and are pointed so only a small drop is needed. I am going to try to find a computer cord for it to upload my results. Even if I don't, it is a great meter for a small price. Looks good too. I have never had any better meter.

Horrible, frighteningly inconsistent
I received the Walgreens branded version of this meter (it's exactly the same) as my first meter when I was diagnosed last week. Setup is needlessly complex, and the meter will give radically different readings - even on different fingers of the same hand within three minutes of each other.

Last week, I washed, rinsed and dried my hands thoroughly before handling the strips and lance, then rewashed, rinsed and dried my left ring finger and inserted the strip with my right hand (being overly careful not to touch anything with my left hand. I lanced my left ring finger and it read 499. Panicking, I repeated my prep, and tested my right ring finger for a reading of 150. okay, I thought, bad strip. It has to happen, right?

Over the next week, the readings fluctuated radically, so I tested myself using my wife's meter. Rock solid, repeatable results on multiple fingers over multiple times. Thinking maybe my strips were bad, I opened a new pack tonight and properly set up the meter with the new strips, according to the instructions. I properly cleaned and dried my hands and tested my left thumb with a reading of 299, then my right middle finger for a reading of 222. Now my left middle finger for a reading of 153, all in the space of three minutes, max.

I did a Google search on this thing, and several other people have had similar problems. Consumer Reports rated it LAST in their Sept. 08 ratings of 13 blood-glucose self-test kits. I'm throwing this thing away and getting the OneTouch UltraMini, which CR rated highest, for only more than this horrible, cursed thing.

Pretty good meter
I only gave this device 3 stars because the instructions are rather limited for someone new to blood testing.

Once I figured it out, it is pretty straightforward and easy to use. My own fingers don't bleed well even at the greatest depth setting so I make sure the droplet is large enough before touching the test strip. I may need a lightly larger lancet when I purchase more.

I am not diabetic yet have been experiencing physical things that might be hypoglycemic so bought this meter to test blood sugar myself.

The kit comes with EVERYTHING you need to get started. Most name brands don't include the test strips. This one includes 10 strips, and 10 lancets.

Most kits should also include the test solution. If it doesn't, call the number in the booklet that comes with the device.
